The new trailer for the upcoming Like a Dragon: Ishin remake offers a variety of minigames and side activities that players can experience in the game.
Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio released a trailer for the upcoming Like a Dragon Ishin remake, showing off the many minigames and side activities available for players to tackle. For the uninitiated, the game is a remake of the 2014 Like a Dragon spinoff, with this release marking the first time the title has been released globally. This features the player incarnation as Sakamoto Ryoma, a samurai from the Bakamatsu era whose voice and appearance is based on the pillar of Like a Dragon Kiryu Kazuma, who is searching for his father’s killer.
With the game coming out in a little over a month, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released gameplay videos and trailers highlighting the many activities players can enjoy. This ranges from Like a Dragon Ishin’s varied combat options to interviews with the actors who will portray some of the recurring characters. The latest trailer focuses on a series staple; loads of mini games and side activities can be found.
Like a Dragon Ishin’s mini-game overview trailer focuses on some familiar activities along with those specific to the game. This includes how the UI has been overhauled for this remake, which can be viewed in several short clips. The mini-games that fans can participate in are varied, including the rhythm game Buyo Dancing, a betting-based chicken race, fishing, and even a variation of “scissors and hammers”.
There are also some classic Japanese card and dice games, such as Koi-Koi, Cho-Han, Oicho-Kabu, and Poker. There are some wilder and more outlandish mini-games like Ryoma’s sword cannon slashing, a sake drinking contest and even running a Udon shop. It’s even possible to play a Bakamatsu-style karaoke minigame version of Like a Dragon, which has translated the lyrics for fans to follow and can even sing along if they like.
The trailer ends with a preview of some of Like a Dragon Ishin’s pre-order bonuses, including two katanas known as the Bloody Sheen and Kijinmaru Kunishige, along with the Black Ship Cannon. These rewards are only available to those who have ordered the Digital Deluxe version of the game, and players also get 4 days of early access to kick it off. With a large number of side activities in games like Yakuza 0, Judgment, and Yakuza: Like A Dragon, fans should expect some of the same ways for them to stay entertained while getting away from the main storyline.
