The eSports competitions that are considered the “spindle” of Vietnam are likely to be absent at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.

Recently, Southeast Asian media suddenly shared an image that is said to be the eSports list of the 2023 SEA Games (SEA Games 32) held in Cambodia. According to this list, the 32nd SEA Games will have only 5 subjects, competing in 9 competitions, including:

  1. AK2 (Attack Online 2) – Personal.
  2. AK2 (Attack Online 2) – Teammates.
  3. PUBG Mobile – Personal.
  4. PUBG Mobile – Teammates.
  5. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang – Men’s Teammate.
  6. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang – Female Teammate.
  7. League: Wild Rift – Men’s Team.
  8. League: Wild Rift – Female Teammate.
  9. Raid (PC).

A very notable detail is that eSports disciplines are considered to be the most popular and popular in Southeast Asia such as League of Legends, Lien Quan Mobile and FIFA Online 4 are absent. in this list. However, if these three subjects are really not put into competition at the SEA Games 32 years later, then Europe is also very understandable, because they are not the strong subjects of the host country Cambodia.

Especially with the case of League of Legends, after the “destructive” performance of the Vietnamese League of Legends team at the last 31 SEA Games, the Southeast Asian eSports community has made a lot of comments that this subject should removed from the list of medal contests at the next Southeast Asian Games. The reason is because of the far superiority of Vietnam’s League of Legends to the rest of the countries in the region, leading to the fact that if there is LoL, it is considered that Vietnam is “free” of a Gold Medal, not a Gold Medal. There is no competitive element in this sport.

Similar to Lien Quan Mobile, in fact, this is only Thailand and Vietnam’s game, so it is understandable for the host country of the 32nd SEA Games.

However, it should be noted that the above list is not official information, and has not been confirmed by competent organizations related to the organization of the Southeast Asian Games. Therefore, we still have hope that League of Legends or Lien Quan Mobile may still appear in the list of medal competitions at next year’s SEA Games.
