Suzume no Tojimari is a Japanese-language anime film in the genre of action fiction, comedy directed and written by Shinkai Makoto. Film produced by CoMix Wave Films and distributed by Toho. Character design is by Tanaka Masayoshi, Tsuchiya Kenichi is in charge of animation, Tanji Takumi is responsible for art, and music is performed by RADWIMPS band and composer Kazuma Jinnouchi. The film is about a high school girl and a young man who try to close the doors to prevent a series of disasters across Japan. The film premiered on November 11, 2022 in Japan. The film will open in Vietnam on March 10, 2023.
Makoto Shinkai’s inspiration came from witnessing the decreasing population and increasing green space during his business trips to many regions in Japan, and at the same time he discovered the Shinjuku neighborhood, which is a busy area, became silent during a particularly serious infectious pneumonia epidemic, he incorporated the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami event. Specifically, Suzume no Tojimari after more than 4 months of release has earned more than 13.93 billion Yen compared to 13.8 of Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
More notably, it took Yuta and the magicians nearly a year and the revenue from international theaters to reach the above figure, but currently Suzume is still only showing in the Japanese domestic market and sure. The film’s revenue will increase sharply by the time the work is released in other markets.
Suzume is currently behind the film Weathering with You with 14.23 billion Yen and there is no official announcement on the international release date for the film yet.
