The new product from developer The Day Before is an “asset flip” game! – Game News
Not long ago, Fntastic (developer The Day Before) is back with a new project titled Escape Factory and hope that the gaming community will be able to forgive the company’s old mistakes.
In a recent post, the company said it has started a capital campaign on Kickstarter to find money to support the development process of Escape Factory as well as decided to use this platform for all of my future projects.
On social media, data miners have been investigating lines of code Escape Factory and discovered quite a few interesting things. Specifically, a user named “Occular Malice” discovered that the game’s networking, room creation and matchmaking mechanisms all use “sample Unity code”, often used by people who are learning how to make games.
Besides, most of the game’s source code is created from “ready-made assets” (Asset Flip) from the Unity store – these assets mostly do not need to be paid to use.
Furthermore, Fntastic is also deleting comments on the Steam forum related to this “deception”. In addition, the development team also blocks anyone on social networks who is “slandering” or criticizing the company’s new product.
At the time of writing, Fntastic’s Kickstarter page had 29 backers and raised $11,459 (target is $15,626).
For those who don’t know, Fntastic’s previous project was The Day Before tried to trick the online community by advertising the wrong nature of the product – causing the game’s “server” to be closed after 45 days of operation and Fntastic to be closed 4 days after the game’s launch.
